Description

The Consorzio Forestale dell’Amiata was founded in 1958 with the aim of managing the municipal forestry heritage of Monte Amiata Grossetano. The first body in Italy to obtain the PEFC GFS certification in 2003, together with the Unione dei Comuni Montani Amiata Grossetana, it established the Amiata Grossetano Forestry Group in 2020, a group within which the first Biodiversity Friend® Forest certification was obtained. The managed forests are distributed as follows by forest type: holm oak coppices, holm oak high forests, shrubs and scrub, chestnut coppices, beech high forests, conifer high forests.
